NPORS CSCS Competent Operator Card
FOR CONSTRUCTION
The CSCS Operator Cards are in line with the Government Strategy for Construction for a single logo that card schemes can work to.
The NPORS Construction Competent Operator Card is issued in line with the requirements stipulated by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and displays the CSCS logo.
Existing NPORS card holders
WISHING TO APPLY FOR A TRANSITIONAL NPORS/CSCS CARD
Existing NPORS Card Holder – (S)NVQ Held
Operators who currently hold the requisite (S)NVQ with the unit credits applicable to the categories of plant stated on their NPORS card will be issued with a Competent Operator card valid for 5 years from the date of application. Operators in receipt of the Competent Operator card will also be issued with a CPD record/operator logbook. This will be an ongoing record of that operators’ continuous professional development and of their operating hours in the workplace.
Operators may apply directly or employers may apply on behalf of their operators via this service.
Please note, that in all cases, operators are required to supply proof to support their application. They have to have passed the NPORS or CITB health, safety & environmental touch screen test within two years prior to their application.
New entrants
WISHING TO APPLY FOR A TRANSITIONAL NPORS/CSCS CARD
New Entrant – (S)NVQ Held
Once successfully tested operators who do currently hold the requisite (S)NVQ with the unit credits applicable to the categories of plant held on their NPORS card will be issued with a Competent Operator card valid for 5 years from the date they were tested. Operators in receipt of the Competent Operator card will also be issued with a CPD record / operator logbook. This will be an ongoing record of the operators continuous professional development and of their operating hours in the workplace.

Change to NPORS/CSCS
FROM YOUR CURRENT STANDARD NPORS CARD
To change the NPORS to the NPORS CSCS competent registration there is a charge of £25 + VAT (£30.00) which is payable by card or BACS online payment.
The registration will not be processed until payment in full has been received.
Requirements for the application:
• NPORS or CITB Online HS&E Test (Touch Screen) – completed within the last 2 years of date of application.
• Copy of (S)NVQ confirming the VQ Title and relevant Units for the subjects you hold.
• Payment information contact number and email address.
• Address information for where the registration is to be returned.
• You must have a current in-date NPORS Red Trained Operator registration or have expired within the last 12 months.
Please Note: If you hold a current NPORS traditional registration, it must be currently in-date to be able to apply to upgrade to the Blue Competent Operator Registration.
